Millions of men and women around the world of all ages elect to get laser hair removal done. The variety is also notable in body areas that are being treated. These areas include large ones such as back, hair, legs, abdomen and chest. Small and delicate areas are also treatable – Bikini, face, neck, underarms and more.
What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a procedure to remove unwanted hair on the face, legs, bikini line, back and underarms. Laser hair removal uses beams of concentrated light which target hairs and leave the area of surrounding skin undamaged.
What areas can I remove hair from?
Any area of the body can be treated, as long as the hair has some pigment (medium blonde to browns or black). By far the most popular areas for women are bikini, underarm and face. For men, it’s the face, neck, shoulders and back – especially if there is ingrown hair. Laser hair removal solves the problem of ingrown hairs, shaving irritation, or hair infections, and of course eliminates the need for shaving or waxing in the future.
How to prepare for laser hair removal?
You should refrain from waxing and plucking the hairs you are having removed for six weeks before laser hair removal, and avoid sun exposure.
Shaving ispermitted. You will also shave the selected area(s) prior to arrival.
How is Laser Hair Removal carried out?
The technician trims the hair.
A cooling gel is placed on the area to be treated.
The technician uses pulses of light from a laser on the treatment area.
The light is absorbed by pigment in the hair follicles.
The pigment is destroyed and the hair is prevented from growing back.
How Long Will Hair Removal Last?
Most people require multiple sessions to achieve the best results. Optimum treatment of minimum of three to six treatments is needed to get 75-85% of the hair permanently removed, depending on the area of the body and the size of the location. We can get any area to 95% or higher with enough treatments, and assuming that hormones are balanced. Laser hair removal is most times permanent as long as the suggested amount of sessions are completed.
